Narrative (Stories)
Daniel & Hebrew boys are a model for those who will experience the
events of the last days of earth’s history.
Nebuchadnezzar was a remarkable man.
Bible Study on Daniel 1 (Dietary Test)
1. Young men of physical ability, good looks, and intelligence were
to be trained for service in the government of Babylon.
2. Good food, free education, and prestigious jobs in the future.
3. He resolved not to defile” himself with the king’s food.
4. It seems that Daniel had the laws of clean and unclean
particularly in mind here.
5. A God who is capable of causing an official to show favor and
sympathy toward Daniel. A God who gifts people with knowledge and
understanding.
6. They looked healthier and better nourished than those who ate the
royal food.
7. The king considered them 10 times wiser than even the experts
he turned to for information.
The Diet Daniel and his friends preferred was Vegetables & Water

9. The king ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon.
Being included among the wise men, Daniel and his friends were
subject to death even though they had not been present when the wise
men failed. Daniel asked for and received extra time.

Bible Study on Daniel 3 (Faithful in Big Things)
13. The audience seemed to include all government officials in the
entire kingdom. They were expected to bow down and worship the
image at the sound of the orchestra. Failure to do so would result in
death by fiery furnace.
14. The music sounded, and everyone but Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego bowed down to the image. When this was reported to the
king, he was furious but wiling to give them a second chance.
15. They were unwilling to bow down, whether or not God
planned to rescue to rescue them.
16. Again an image is depicted in the context of a call to worship
and a threat of death.
17. Although the fire was hot enough to kill the guards who threw
them into the fire, they were not harmed; only the ropes that bond them
were burned off. They were visited in the furnace by an angel, who
looked to Nebuchadnezzar like a son of the gods.

Abednego in the province of Babylon.

Bible Study on Daniel 4 (The Most High)
19. The Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar.
20. Praise to the Most High God, who does whatever He pleases,
thereby humbling the proud who think that they are in control.
21. Once again Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, but his wise men
couldn’t interpret it for him. In his dream a large and flourishing tree
was cut down, but the stump was left for “seven times.” The dream then
treated the tree as human: Let his mind be changed from that of a man
and let him be given then mind of an animal”
22. Daniel was perplexed and afraid for the king.
23. He understood the tree to be Nebuchadnezzar. The dream
predicted that Neb would become lie an animal until he was wiling to
acknowledge the God of heaven. After that the kingdom would be
restored to him. Daniel suggested that if he would repent in advance,
the judgment might be averted.
24. After a year Nebuchadnezzar once again asserted himself as the
one in full control of Babylon. At that point everything took place, just
as Daniel said it would. Finally, Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the
true God and humbles himself.
Neb lived like a wild animal for seven “times” years.
Bible Study on Daniel 5 (Who Needs Experience)
25. He had the remarkable ability to interpret difficult things.
26. The king failed to learn from Neb experience. Arrogance and
pride led to Neb fall. Acknowledging the true God was his was back to
usefulness. The bottom line was that Belshazzar had failed to learn
anything from Neb experience.
27. Belshazzar’s reign was over, and the kingdom was about to be
taken over by the Medes and the Persians

28. Belshazzar’s Babylon fell, and Darius the Mede took over as
ruler of Babylon.
29. Daniel was appointed chief administrator.
30. They looked for a way to bring Daniel’s reputation down. But
they could find absolutely nothing wrong with his governmental
conduct: the only possible offense had to do with his religion. So they
got the king to sign a law that would, in effect, make it illegal for Daniel
to practice his faith.
31. He prayed as always.
32. Since the laws of the Medes and Persians could not be altered,
Darius was forced to carry out the punishment prescribed, but Daniel
was delivered from the lions by an angel. Those who plotted against
Daniel were executed in his place. Darius issued a decree in which he
declared that the God of Daniel has an unending dominion in which He
rescues and saves.
